My introduction to a Cross Country Road Trip was in 1981, at age 13. We packed the family Chevy Impala Station Wagon inside and on the roof, and drove west from Toronto to Vancouver via some unbelievable Canadian scenery. From the great plains in Manitoba, to the Rockies in Alberta and British Columbia, it was all simply magic.
This would have been a lengthy Road Trip in itself, yet it was not even the halfway point for us! From Vancouver, we headed south via Washington, and Oregon all the way to Los Angeles. Finally we zigzagged through Nevada, Utah and many more stops in a diagonal route back to Toronto.
It doesn't matter if you're moving and need to get the car across the country, or you really just want to spend some time exploring; a cross country trip has all the makings of a lifelong memory in the making.
